‘Wake, Pray, Slay’ and Other Things We Learn from Instagram

Spending too much time on Instagram lately? ME TOO.

But let’s not beat ourselves up about it. There’s a lot we can learn from Instagram, like how to love ourselves better, how to express solidarity, and where to find decent lingerie.

Sometimes we peek into our friends lives and see something beautiful, or messy, or delicious (for the record I hate food porn. I didn’t come here to see your amazing breakfast, leave me alone! It’s 11am and/or pm and I am hangry!!).

Sometimes we’re a little pervy. Sometimes we encourage others to peek behind our curtains, but with a good reason. #CelluliteSaturday, for example, is a hashtag with a purpose. I dig it.

Amidst all the bathroom mirror selfies and cats-being-jerks photos (which I enjoy almost equally), there is a positive message to be found, if you’re looking for it. Or if you know where to look.

Here are some of my favorite recent Instagram posts–with annotations.

In the words of the great Amy Schumer: “First of all, I’m sorry. Second of all, you’re welcome.”

No really. Trash panda loooooves you…

That was fun. Let’s do it again soon. ❤
