Created by the hilarious poet Rick Lupert, the Super Highway ran a Prompt-a-Day series for National Poetry Mouth. I was excited to have one of my original prompts selected for day 12!

April 12, 2014: Sonnet Prompt

I love the idea of a “modern” sonnet, the formation of it reminds me of a prose poem. The lyric poem with a story-like narrative that deliberately turns on itself. Please let me know if you use this prompt to write a poem. I’m very interested in what this inspires!
